ABOUT Konafa Bi Jibn RECIPE

Konafa bi jibn is a Middla Eastern /Arabic Dessert made using shredded phyllo pastry resembling vermicilli with a filling of Cream Cheese and Mozarella Cheese or powdered Dry Fruits. Delicately flavored with Rose/Orange Blossom Water.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Konafa 300 g
  2. Melted butter 100 g
  3. 300 g Cream+Mozzarella Cheese
  4. 2 tbsp fine sugar
  5. Cardamom as per taste
  6. 100 ml sugar syrup flavored with orange blossom water

Instructions

  1. Separate the strands of konafa and mix well with the melted butter. Spread half of this evenly in bottom of ring mould placed on baking tray. Cover with the cheese mixed with fine sgar and cardamom. Cover with the remaining konafa pastry shreds.
  2. Bake for 30-45 minutes till it is nice golden brown. Pour cool flavored sugar syrup. Garnish with sliced dry fruits.
