ABOUT Gujarati Mohanthaal RECIPE

This recipe was taught by my grandmother to my mother and I learnt this recipe from my mother.This recipe is generally prepared on almost all festivals in Gujarat.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. • 300 gram Chick pea flour (Besan)
  2. • 200 gram Sugar
  3. • ½ cup water
  4. • Saffron pinch
  5. • 2 tsp Cardamom powder
  6. • 250 gram ghee
  7. • 1 tbsp ghee
  8. • 1 tbsp milk
  9. • 2 tbsp khoya
  10. • 1 tbsp mix dry fruit slice

Instructions

  1. Add ghee and milk in Chickpea flour and keep it for moin and rest it for 10 min.
  2. Strain flour with a strainer.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan. Roast flour until it is golden brown.
  4. After roasting flour, add khoya.
  5. Make 1 ½ thread sugar syrup and add saffron and cardamom.
  6. Add sugar syrup and mix well.
  7. Grease the dish and put the mohanthal in dish and garnish with dry fruits.
  8. After cooling it in room temperature serve it.
