Gujarati Mohanthaal

Ingredients to make Gujarati Mohanthaal

  • • 300 gram chick pea flour (Besan)
  • • 200 gram sugar
  • • ½ cup water
  • saffron pinch
  • • 2 tsp cardamom powder
  • • 250 gram ghee
  • • 1 tbsp ghee
  • • 1 tbsp milk
  • • 2 tbsp khoya
  • • 1 tbsp mix dry fruit slice

How to make Gujarati Mohanthaal

  1. Add ghee and milk in Chickpea flour and keep it for moin and rest it for 10 min.
  2. Strain flour with a strainer.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan. Roast flour until it is golden brown.
  4. After roasting flour, add khoya.
  5. Make 1 ½ thread sugar syrup and add saffron and cardamom.
  6. Add sugar syrup and mix well.
  7. Grease the dish and put the mohanthal in dish and garnish with dry fruits.
  8. After cooling it in room temperature serve it.

My Tip:

Sugar syrup's consistency should be only 1 1/2 thread, then only mohanthal will freeze.
