ABOUT Besan Choorma Burfee RECIPE

In my childhood days, my nani maa used to make this recipe which was everyone's favourite in my family. I tried this and every one liked it.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Gram flour 1/2 kg
  2. sugar 300 gms
  3. malai 4-5 tbsp
  4. ghee for shortening 2 tbsp
  5. grated khoya 4 tbsp
  6. chironji, chopped pistachios and roasted melon seeds for garnishing
  7. Milk to make the dough as required
  8. Pure ghee to deep fry
  9. water as required


  1. In a big plate take gram flour and malai. Mix well with hands and make a tight dough with milk like puri dough.
  2. Make small balls of the dough.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan, press the ball lightly with hands and deep fry on medium flame.
  4. When all balls are fried, let it cool and mash with hands then grind in mixer jar. Strain this powder with strainer.
  5. Make two threads chashni with sugar and little water. When chashni is done add 4 tbsp grated khoya.
  6. Add besan mixture and mix well till dry. Spread this mixture on a greased tray and garnish with chironji, chopped pistachios, and roasted melon seeds. When cool cut in square or diamond shape.
