Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Chopped Malabar spinach - 1 cup
  2. Besan / Chickpea flour - 1 & 1/2 cup
  3. Rice flour - 1/2 cup
  4. Whole cumin seed - 1 tsp
  5. Whole black cumin seed - 1 tsp
  6. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  7. Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  8. Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  9. Salt - as per your taste
  10. Oil - for deep frying
  11. Water - as needed

Instructions

  1. Chop the Malabar spinach leaves.
  2. Take a bowl and add all of the dry ingredients except baking soda.
  3. Mix them together first.
  4. Add little bit of water at a time and make a fine paste. **paste should be not too runny or not too thick.**
  5. Beat well until it forms into a smooth paste.
  6. Add baking soda and mix well.
  7. Add chopped Malabar spinach and mix well.
  8. Heat oil in a deep frying pan.
  9. Drop a spoonful of Malabar spinach into hot oil.
  10. Fry on low medium heat until they turn into nice and golden brown and crispy.
