Ingredients to make Aata Halwa

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds
  • saffron a pinch for garnishing

How to make Aata Halwa

  1. In a pan, over low heat, add the flour and ghee. Keep roasting on sim, until the flour turns brown. This may take about 20 min. Add almonds (keep some for garnishing) and roast for a few more minutes. Slowly add water and sugar.
  2. Keep stirring until the sugar dissolves and the halwa thickens a bit. Sereve it hot in a bowl. Top it with almonds and saffron strands.

My Tip:

You can add pistachios too for crunchiness.
