ABOUT Gulkand Cupcakes RECIPE

These party snacks are ideal for a kids Birthday party or kitty party. Easy to make, these eggless cupcakes are flavoured with gulkand.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 1/2 cup plain flour
  2. 1 tsp. baking powder
  3. 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  4. pinch of salt
  5. 2 tbsp. gulkand (rose petals preserve)
  6. 1/3 cup oil
  7. 1/3 cup yoghurt
  8. 2 drops of red food colour
  9. 2-3 tbsp. powdered sugar or to taste
  10. 1 tbsp. rose water
  11. 1 tsp. chopped pistachios
  12. dry rose petals and chopped pistachios to garnish (opt)
  13. Frosting -
  14. 100 gms. butter at room temperature
  15. 1-2 drops of red food colour
  16. 1 cup powdered sugar


  1. Sift the flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Keep aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk oil, gulkand, yoghurt, rose water, food colour and sugar till light and fluffy.
  3. Now add the dry ingredients, little at a time into the mix and fold it in gently.
  4. Add the chopped pistachios and give it a stir.
  5. Line a muffin tray and spoon in the batter till it is 3/4 full. Tap gently.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 190 degrees for 15-17 minutes. Insert a skewer to check if it is done. Set aside to cool.
