ABOUT Magdal RECIPE

A very famous sweet delight from Banaras.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Moongdal flour 250 g
  2. Uraddal flour 250 g
  3. Powdered sugar 400 g
  4. Puree Ghee 400 g
  5. Black cardamom 40 g
  6. Mishri 40 g

Instructions

  1. Take a wok and heat 200 grams of pure ghee now add moong daal flour and roast it on a low flame until it changes it's color to pink. Once the color is changed now transfer it to a plate and keep it aside.
  2. Now heat 200 grams of pure ghee and add urad daal flour and roast it until it too changes it's color, once the color is changed remove it from the gas stove.
  3. When both the flours cools down take a vessel and add both the flours in it. Now beat both the flours until they turn into light and soft mixture.
  4. Now add powderd sugar into the flour mixture.
  5. Take this mixture and give them the shape of pedas. Roughly grind black cardamom and Mishri. On the pedas put the cardamom and mishri mixture.
  6. Your MAGDAL is ready which would melt as soon as you keep it in your mouth. Enjoy
