Chocolate Cake

Ingredients to make Chocolate Cake

  • egg - 2
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • oil - 1/2 cup
  • Caster sugar - 2 cup
  • Plain flour - 1 & 1/4 cup
  • Baking powder - 1 & 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 & 1/2 tsp
  • Cocoa powder - 3/4 cup
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
  • Boiling water - 1 cup

How to make Chocolate Cake

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degree celsius.
  2. Grease a cake pan with butter or oil and then line with a baking paper.
  3. Into a large bowl sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda together.
  4. Add sugar and salt and briefly whisk to combine.
  5. In another bowl whisk together egg, milk, oil and vanilla essence.
  6. Add the egg mixture with the flour and whisk well for about 30 seconds or till you get a lump free batter.
  7. Add boiling hot water and whisk to incorporate.
  8. Pour the batter into the greased cake pan. **Batter will be very thin, so if using a springform pan then there's a chance to leaking. Be careful about that.**
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center and comes out clean.
  10. Cool for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack upside down.
  11. After cool completely, frosting the cake as you desired or have it as it is.

My Tip:

At room temperature this cake will stay nice and moist upto 4-5 days.
