About Falafel Recipe

Falafel is traditionally middle eastern vegan food ,which is serve with pita, or hummus.

Falafel

Ingredients to make Falafel

  • 225 gm dry chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
  • 1 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • 4 tsp gram flour
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 3 pod garlic minced
  • 2 green chilly
  • 1/2 tsp red chilly powder
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying

How to make Falafel

  1. Add the garbanzo beans into a large bowl and soak in water overnight (the water should be a couple inches higher than the beans, so the beans plump up).
  2. Rinse the beans and add them to a food processor with chopped parsley, coriander leaves, minced garlic, green chilly.
  3. Process the ingredients together until it looks like a coarse paste.
  4. Take out course paste in a bowl and all all spices,gram flour and salt, again mix well.
  5. Make the paste into small balls, rolling them in your hand.
  6. In a good frying skillet add oil, Heat the oil and drop balls on medium heat and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  7. Take out on absorbent paper .
  8. Serve with hummus.
