ABOUT Malai Chop RECIPE

Malai Chop is one of the femous sweet of Bengal. Its tastes awesome. You can try this mouth watering sweet for any kind of parties.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1/2 litre full fat cow milk
  2. 3 tbsp Vinegar
  3. 1 tbsp semolina/suji
  4. 1/4 tsp baking powder
  5. 1 tsp moida/ all purpose flour
  6. 1 tsp orange essence
  7. 1 tsp tri coloured (red, yellow, green) tutti-frutti
  8. To make sugar syrup:
  9. 1 cup sugar
  10. 2 cup water
  11. 1 tsp lime juice
  12. For stuffing:
  13. 1/2 litre full fat cow milk
  14. 4 tbsp sugar
  15. 1 tsp ghee

Instructions

  1. For stuffing: boil milk, sugar, ghee altogether until all the moisture removed and allow it to cool at room temperature.
  2. To make chop: boil the milk and add vinegar and stir milk until curdles completely.
  3. Pour curdled milk into a strainer and strani.
  4. Rinse with cold water to avoid the acidic flavour.
  5. Keep the chenna into the strainer for 2 hours to remove the excess whey.
  6. After 2 hours put the chena into a plate.
  7. Add semolina, moida, baking powder.
  8. Mix well and knead with your palm till it becomes smooth and uniform.
  9. Keep aside the dough for 10 minutes.
  10. Take a little portion from the dough and give the round pattie shape like a chop.
  11. To make sugar syrup: In a kadhai add water, sugar, lime juice on a high heat.
  12. When it starts to boil, add the chop.
  13. Cover with a lid and cook for 10 minutes on high heat.
  14. After 10 minutes flip each chop with a spoon and cook for another 10 minutes.
  15. After 10 minutes turn off the gas and remove the kadhai from the gas.
  16. Allow to cool it at room temperature.
  17. Add orange essence to the chop and mix well.
  18. Now transfer all the chop into a strainer to remove the excess sugar syrup.
  19. Cut in half portion each with a sharp knife.
  20. Put 1 tsp stuffing on some of the chop.
  21. Cover it with some other chop on which we don't put the stuffing.
  22. Now garnish with tri coloured tutti-frutti and serve it.
