Prawn / Fish Pickle

Ingredients to make Prawn / Fish Pickle

  • Fish or prawn - 1/2 kg
  • chilly powder - 4 tbspn or 40gms
  • jeera powder - 2 tbspn or 25gms
  • pepper corns - 1 tbspn
  • cinnamon stick - 2pc or 10gms
  • mustard - 1 tbspn
  • garlic - 100 gms
  • vinegar - 300ml
  • ginger - 1
  • Gingelly oil - 300 ml

How to make Prawn / Fish Pickle

  1. Grind ginger- garlic with vinegar in mixie.
  2. When coarse add all dry masala ingredients chilly powder, jeera powder, pepper corns, cinnamon stick, mustard and grind well.
  3. Rub turmeric and salt on fish or prawn and fry in gingelly oil till light golden brown.
  4. In the same remaining oil saute ground masala till oil seperates.
  5. Add fried fish or prawn and mix well.
  6. Add little sugar and let it simmer and remove from stove.
  7. Cool and bottle.

My Tip:

Fish preferred barracuda fish cubed / prawns preferrably small or medium size prawns will enhance the taste of the pickle.
