Turmeric Leaf Kheer

Ingredients to make Turmeric Leaf Kheer

  • 1/2 cup - basmati rice
  • 1.5 ltrs – Milk (whole or semi skimmed)
  • 1/4 cup – sugar
  • 2 turmeric leaves

How to make Turmeric Leaf Kheer

  1. In a wide saucepan boil the milk &Once the milk starts to boil, add the washed basmati rice to it.
  2. Give it a stir and let it boil & After one boil, reduce the flame to low, cover the pan with a lid and co for 15mins, stirring occasionally to avoid the milk from catching the bottom.
  3. The rice should be cooked well yet should be holding the shape.
  4. Add sugar at this point,stir and cook till the sugar melts.
  5. Once the sugar melts, tear up the turmeric leaf and add it to the kheer, Cover the lid and let the leaf stay & The leaf will flavour the kheer well yet mildly.
  6. Serve hot with a dollop of ghee over it.

My Tip:

Cook the kheer on low flame with a lot of patience and love.
