ABOUT CREAM KANAFEH RECIPE

It is an Indo Arabian dessert ,actually it is made with kadaif in Arabian countries, which is not available in our country ,so I tried making it with sewai and the cream with curdled milk.it tastes awesome,it is a fusion dessert of Arab and India

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Sewai or vermicelli 200 gram
  2. Butter 2 tablespoons
  3. turmeric powder or Yellow food colour one pinch
  4. for cream-- powdered milk one cup
  5. Water 3/4 cup
  6. Condensed milk 1/3 cup
  7. curdled Milk or Chena half cup (mashed)
  8. corn flour 1 tbsp( mixed with little amount of water)
  9. for syrup-- sugar half cup
  10. Water half cup
  11. chopped dry fruits( cashew , pistachio,almond) half cup
  12. Crushed pistachios for decoration

Instructions

  1. first crush the sewai into small pieces
  2. add butter and turmeric powder to it , mix it well and keep aside
  3. now take a pan and mix powdered milk and water
  4. now turn on the gas , flame the pan and stir
  5. now add condensed milk to it
  6. stir the corn flour and mix
  7. In low flame stir it continuously
  8. when it turn little thick, mix the curdled milk
  9. after getting the creamy texture, turn off the gas and cool it and keep aside
  10. grease the cake tin with butter
  11. now take some amount of sewai and put it into the tin
  12. Pour the cold cream and spread evenly on the top
  13. sprinkles the chopped dry fruits on the top of the cream
  14. now add the rest of the sewai on the top
  15. press it gently
  16. now in a heavy bottom Pan spread some salt and keep a rack and heat on medium flame for 10 minutes
  17. Place the cake tin on the rack
  18. cover the tin with a plate
  19. bake it for 40 to 45 minutes
  20. meanwhile make sugar syrup by boiling water and sugar for 7 to 8 minutes
  21. When it is fully baked, pour the sugar syrup on hot kanafeh and rest it for 1 hour(pour generously)
  22. Demold it
  23. Sprinkle some crushed pistachios and it is ready to serve
