Give a different cheesy flavour to your normal khandvi rolls

Khandvi rolls with Mexican twist !!

Ingredients to make Khandvi rolls with Mexican twist !!

  • gram flour - 3 heaped tbspn
  • buttermilk- 1/2 cup
  • water- about 150 ml
  • turmeric powder- 1/2 tspn
  • Oregano- 1 tspn
  • Chipotle sauce - 1 to 2 tbspn(adjust to taste)
  • coconut grated - 1/4 cup
  • green chilly - 1
  • ginger- 1/4 inch piece
  • coriander leaves- 1 tbspn finely chopped
  • oil-1 tspn
  • FOR THE TADKA
  • oil- 1 tspn
  • mustard seeds-1 tspn
  • White sesame seeds- 1 tspn
  • asafoetida- 1 big pinch
  • salt to taste
  • green chilly -1 finely chopped (optional)

How to make Khandvi rolls with Mexican twist !!

  1. In a bowl put the buttermilk ,salt and turmeric powder and whisk it well ...
  2. Now grind the green chilly and ginger in a motar and pestel
  3. Put it in the curd...Now add the gram flour and oregano.....add required quantity water and whisk well so that no lumps are there
  4. Grease the back of some plates with oil and keep aside
  5. Now heat a nonstick pan....Put oil...Now pour in the gram flour mixture and stir continuously or else it will stick to the bottom.....
  6. This mixture will start getting thick....
  7. Put a little mixture on the plate...If you are able to spread it then it means it is cooked... Or else cook for few minutes more....Turn off the gas.
  8. Now quickly pour some mixture on the greased plates and spread it in. Circular motion just like a dosa....Spread on remaining plates in the similar way....
  9. Then put chipotle sauce

  11. Now spread it over the khandvi..
  12. Cut it into long strips with a knife.
  13. Then carefully roll it into tight rolls
  14. Now take a tadka pan put oil....When hot put asafoetida/hing ...Mustard seeds,sesame seeds ad green chilly if you like it spicy.... I have not added as the sauce is spicy enough...
  15. Now pour this over the khandvi rolls....
  16. Garnish with grated coconut and coriander leaves....
  17. The khandvi rolls are ready to serve ....
