ABOUT Hariyali Daliya RECIPE

I used to make food for only myself before getting hitched, most of the times i had left overs. And one fine day it was Palak Paneer that was left over, so from there came this idea of making Hariyali Dailya

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 tsp Jeera
  2. a pinch of Hing
  3. 2 Chopped Tomatoes
  4. 300 gms Spinach
  5. 100 gms Coriander
  6. 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
  7. 1/8 tsp Nutmeg powder
  8. Red Chilli powder to taste
  9. Salt to taste
  10. 1.5 tbsp Coriander powder
  11. 1 tbsp Jeera powder
  12. 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  13. 1 tbsp Ghee
  14. 150 gm Paneer
  15. 6 Fistfulls of Daliya(soaked for 10 min)
  16. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste

Instructions

  1. 1. Blanch Spinach & coriander and puree them together.
  2. 2. Heat ghee in a cooker, add jeera(whole) and hing.
  3. 3. Once jeera is cooked, add ginger garlic paste and saute for 1-2 min
  4. 4. Add chopped tomatoes and top it with salt and turmeric.
  5. 5. Cook tomatoes till they are soft.
  6. 6. Add all dry masala and cook for a minute.
  7. 7. Add spinach & coriander puree and cook for 5 min till raw smell disappears.
  8. 8. Add Daliya, paneer cubes and adjust salt.
  9. 9. Add water if required.
  10. 10. Pressure cook for 2 whistles on high flame.
  11. 11. Serve hot, topped with ghee. It can be accompanied with masala chaach.
