Lovely biscuit with taste of sharp cheddar cheese.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups maida
  2. 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  3. 1/4 tsp salt
  4. 6 tbsp chilled butter, cut into small pieces
  5. 3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
  6. 3/4 cup buttermilk
  7. 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 220 degree C.
  2. Mix maida, baking powder and salt in a large bowl, mix chilled butter until mixture looks like bread crumbs. Chill for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix buttermilk, Cheddar Cheese and sugar. Add buttermilk mixture to flour mixture and stir(do not mix too much).
  4. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead lightly 3- 4 times, gently roll to a 3/4-inch thickness.
  5. Cut the biscuits with cutter or knife and place them on grease baking tray. Bake at 220 for 12 minutes or until golden.
  6. Remove from pan and let it cool 2 minutes and then transfer to cooling rack.
  7. Generously with melted butter. Serve warm.
