ABOUT Chinese Vada Pav RECIPE

Here I am back with another fusion recipe. It's all about Vada Pav with the fusion twist. How does it sound to you all? I know, it sounds like heavenly Luscious.. I usually make Vada Pav by simple way but today, I am making Chinese Vada Pav which is my all time favourite at home. There are so many variation in this one recipe. Like you can make Chinese Vada and serve just like the regular Vada Pav. You've tried the regular Vada but this Chinese Vada Recipe is a new twist to the traditional authentic Vada recipe. The Indian version of burger with a fusion of chinese sauces. Enjoy !

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Oil as per needed
  2. 1 onion, finely chopped
  3. 1 Cup Capsicum, finely chopped and Shredded for garnishing
  4. 1 Cup Carrot, finely chopped and Shredded for garnishing
  5. 1 Cup French beans, finely chopped
  6. 1 cup Cabbage, finely chopped
  7. 2 Boiled Potatoes, cut into cubes
  8. Salt and pepper to taste
  9. 1 tsp cumin powder
  10. 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
  11. 1 tsp soy sauce
  12. 1 tsp chilli sauce
  13. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  14. 1 tsp red chili powder
  15. For Batter : 2 Cups All purpose flour ( maida)
  16. 2 tsp Refined flour, (Cornflour)
  17. Water
  18. Schezwan chutney
  19. Laadi Pav

Instructions

  1. In a non-stick wok/kadhai on a medium flame, add 2 tsp oil and the ginger-garlic paste and saute.
  2. Then add the onion and stir till it becomes little brown. Then add french beans, carrot, cabbage and capsicum. keep stirring and adding veggies as per they cook.
  3. Then add red chili powder, cumin powder, salt and pepper as per taste. Mix everything well.
  4. Cover with lid while cooking so that the veggies are cooked well.
  5. Now add the boiled potato and mash everything together. Mix everything together.
  6. Add the seasonings chili sauce, soy sauce and garam masala and mix well.
  7. Adjust seasonings as per needed.
  8. Now the Potato and veggies filling is ready. Make small balls of Potato fillings. Keep it aside.
  9. Batter : Mix Maida and cornflour add pinch of salt and add water to make paste. Add some 1 tsp oil it gives a crispy taste to outer covering.
  10. Dip Potato balls in the smooth paste. Deep fry the potato balls till golden brown.
  11. Remove on a plate layered with tissue paper to remove excess oil.
  12. The Chinese Vada is now ready.
  13. Assembling : Cut the Bread into two halves. Add the schezwan chutney and shredded cabbage and carrots.
  14. Place the Chinese Vada in the centre of the bread & Close the bread
  15. The Chinese Vada Pav is ready to serve.
