Kheer, a popular Indian dish is made of milk and sugar. But this recipe of Garlic kheer uses the unique flavour of Garlic to take the taste a notch higher.Garlic kheer lowers the blood cholesterol and helps to normalize bowel movement with relieving flatulence. Garlic is a best remedy for indigestion as it improves digestion.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Low Fat Milk- 1 glass(250 ml.)
  2. Minced Garlic - 1½ cup
  3. Dates - 3-4
  4. Corn flour, dissolved in milk - 1 tbsp
  5. Sugar according to taste
  6. Cardamom powder - 1 teaspoon
  7. Pistachio shavings -1/2 tablespoon
  8. Cherry for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Soak minced garlic in water for 3 hours; let it boil with alum for a while, to get rid of the bitterness.
  2. Wash thoroughly and keep aside.Now make thick paste of garlic and dates without adding water. Keep aside.
  3. Now boil milk in a pan.
  4. Add garlic-dates paste, cardamom powder and corn flour, cook till milk thickens. Add sugar at last . Switch off the flame.
  5. kheer is ready to serve.
  6. It can be enjoyed hot or cold. While serving garnish with pistachio and cherry.
