I have tasted these momos first time in Hongkong in desert section. And I fell in love with it. I decided I will try for sure . I tried to find out recepie but could not get . So I decided to try with Rice flour. And I am very happy with my results of first trial.

Custard Stuffed Rice flour momos. ( An innovative desert )

Ingredients to make Custard Stuffed Rice flour momos. ( An innovative desert )

  • For Filling
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Vanilla Custard powder 5 tsp
  • sugar 6 to 8 tsp ( milk should be sweeter )
  • Cinnamom powder 1/4 tsp
  • almonds blanched and chopped 1 tbsp
  • for momos
  • Rice flour 1 fup
  • water 1 1/2 cup
  • salt a pinch
  • ghee 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Finely Grated coconut 1 / 4 cup
  • Steamer
  • Slotted plate for steaming momos

How to make Custard Stuffed Rice flour momos. ( An innovative desert )

  1. To make custard
  2. Boil milk. Add sugar.
  3. Add little water in custard powder , make paste .
  4. Add this paste to boiling milk.
  5. Make thick custard . Keep under the fan to cool.
  6. Keep in fridger.
  7. To make momos
  8. Boil water. Add a pinch of salt.
  9. Add 2 tsp ghee.
  10. Add rice flour stirring continuously with a fork.
  11. After mixed turn off gas. Cover for 5 minutes.
  12. Knead by taking some ghee.
  13. Apply some water to the palm as dough will be too hot.
  14. Make a smooth dough.
  15. Keep steamer with water on high heat.
  16. Make small balls by greasing your palms..
  17. Take out custard , add Cinnamon powder. Add chopped almonds .
  18. Take out fine coconut powder in a plate.
  19. Take a ball and spread between palms.
  20. Make bowl shape.
  21. Fill with a spoon of custard.
  22. Close very carefully.
  23. Roll in Coconut and steam on low medium heat for 12 to 15 minutes.
  24. Enjoy your desert momos.

My Tip:

You can make same momos with all purpose flour too.
