Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1/2 kg rice
  2. 1/2 kg potatoes boiled and fried
  3. 100 gms beaten curds
  4. Masala paste (2 tbsp ginger garlic paste, roasted dhania,roasted jeera,roasted saunf 1 tbsp each, 1 tbsp chilli pd, 1tsp haldi pd, 1tsp laung, 1tsp kalimirch, 2 to 3 bay leaves, 2 green chillies)
  5. 1/2 cups fried onions leave some for garnishing
  6. Whole spices 1 star anise,2 bay leaf, 2 laung, 4 kalimirch,
  7. Oil as required
  8. Salt as per taste
  9. Coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Par boil the rice with some whole spices. Keep aside
  2. In a blender grind the ingredients of masala paste with fried onions into fine paste
  3. Heat oil in pot add the masala paste and fry till oil leaves
  4. Add beaten curds fry till oil leaves
  5. Add in fried potatoes, salt simmer for 10 to 15 mins
  6. In a large pot put a layer of rice at the bottom
  7. Then the potato masala layer
  8. Then add rice layer
  9. Garnish with fried onions and coriander leaves.close the lid
  10. Keep on tawa on high flame for 5 mins then on low flame for 10 mins
  11. Serve with curd raita
