ABOUT Pandesal/Filipino Bread Rolls RECIPE

Pandesal which is also known as Pan de Sal is a popular bread rolls which is quite common in Philipines.And the particularity of this bread is they are rolled finally on bread crumbs before baking. This gives a fabulous look to these bread rolls. This bread is a most known among the Filipino bread do exists. This bread tastes slightly sweet, absolutely soft and fluffy white bread rolls to enjoy with some salted butter and jam.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1+1/2cups All purpose flour
  2. 1cup Bread flour
  3. 1tsp Instant yeast
  4. 1/4cup Sugar
  5. 50grams Butter (melted)
  6. 1/2tsp Baking powder
  7. 1/2tsp Salt
  8. 1/2cup Bread crumbs
  9. 1tbsp Oil
  10. 1 Egg
  11. 1cup Milk

Instructions

  1. Take the all purpose flour, bread flour, sugar, salt, yeast, baking powder in a bowl.
  2. Meanwhile luke warm the milk, whisk the egg to the milk.
  3. Now add the milk,melted butter to the flour mixture and knead everything as a smooth dough.
  4. Grease a bowl with oil and drop the kneaded dough, wrap it and leave it in aside until they double their volume.
  5. Once the dough gets doubled, punch it and drop them to a kitchen top.
  6. Knead again for a while and divide the dough into 3-4 balls. Roll each balls as a cylindrical shape. Slice the dough diagonally to make some balls,. Roll the sliced dough over the bread crumbs.
  7. Place them on a baking tray lined with baking sheet. Let the dough aside for half an hour until they rise.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350F, arrange the tray in middle rack of the oven and bake for 20-25inutes until the crust turns golden in colour.
  9. Remove the tray and let the pandesal gets cool a bit.
  10. Serve hot with butter or else with any other spreads.
