About Khaman Dhokla Recipe

Dhokla is usually have in Gujrat as a break fast. This is a traditional recipe of Gujrat

Khaman Dhokla

Ingredients to make Khaman Dhokla

  • 2 cup gram flour
  • 2 tablespoon semolina
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • water as required
  • 1 teaspoon musterd seeds
  • 3-4 slited green chillies
  • Some curry leaves
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ghee or oil

How to make Khaman Dhokla

  1. Make a smooth batter of gram flour, semolina, salt, baking powder, baking soda,oil, lemon juice & water.
  2. Grease a plate with butter & pour the batter. Tab it.
  3. Preaheat a wok for 10 minutes with 1 glass of water. Add a stand in it.
  4. After 10 minutes add tha plate in to the wok & simmer it for 30 minutes. Steame it in low flame. After 30 minutes check the dhokla with a knife. It may take some more time.
  5. On the other hand, heat some ghee & add black musterd seeds, green chillies & curry leaves. Let it splutter.
  6. Then add 1 cup of water & 3 tablespoon of sugar. Boil in it for make a syrup.
  7. Pour this syrup on the dhokla & cut in to pieces.
