ABOUT Hash Browns RECIPE

Super simple restaurant style Hash Brown patties. Super crispy outside with soft tender inside. Goes with just about any breakfast. These are super easy and sure to impress ! Hash Browns are a simple preparation in which potatoes are pan-fried after being shredded. Hash browns are a staple breakfast food at diners in North America and the UK. It is also a traditional full English breakfast. Hash Browns are easy and simple to make, try out this recipe and impress everyone at home.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 3 medium Potatoes, peeled and shredded
  2. 1 egg
  3. 1/4 Cup Shredded Parmesan
  4. 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  5. 2 teaspoons Seasoned Salt
  6. 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  7. 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  8. 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cumin Powder
  9. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  10. 1 cup Oil for frying, or as needed

Instructions

  1. Rinse shredded potatoes until water is clear, then drain and squeeze dry. Place shreds in a large bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together egg, parmesan, flour, seasoned salt, chili powder, basil, cumin, and pepper.
  3. Add to shredded potatoes and mix until evenly distributed.
  4. Heat about 1/4 inch of oil in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. When oil is sizzling hot, scoops out 1/4 cup potato mixture into the pan and flatten to a 1/2 inch thick layer.
  6. Cook until nicely browned on the bottom, then flip over and brown on the other side. It should take at least 5 minutes per side.
  7. Remove from pan, and drain on paper towels.
  8. Season with a little extra salt and pepper, if desired.
  9. Serve immediately with a yogurt dip or tomato ketchup.
