ABOUT French madeleines RECIPE

These french madeleines are butter cakes in shell shape. Although these madeleines are use to have with tea and coffee but can have them in breakfast as well. These are ideal for breakfast.we can have them with a cup of tea and coffee.I make them many times but today i glazed them half in pink colour

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 3 eggs
  2. 1 tsp vanilla essence
  3. Pinch of salt
  4. 1/2 cup sugar
  5. 3/4 cup flour
  6. 6 tbsp butter
  7. FOR GLAZE---
  8. 3/4 cup icing sugar
  9. 3 tsp milk
  10. 1 tsp strawberry jam
  11. Pink colour


  1. Melt butter and cool it till room temperature
  2. Take eggs in a bowl
  3. Add salt and vanilla and beat them till light in colour
  4. Beat till ribbon consistency
  5. Add sugar in batches and beat 5 to 10 min.
  6. Sift a third of flour in egg mix and fold it in after each edition
  7. Now add half egg mix and add in cooled butter then mix remaining egg mix and fold it
  8. And fold it
  9. Cover with cling and keep in freeze for 90 min.
  10. Grease medeleines mould with butter
  11. Preheat ovan
  12. Pour battar in mould and bake for 12 min. At 180 degree till edges starts to fight brown
  13. After baking remove from mould and let them cool
  14. Make glaze with given ingredients add sugar ,jam and water whisk them and add colour .
  15. Dip Madeleines half in glaze
  16. Our white and pink madeleines are ready to serve
