Chicken Fry

Ingredients to make Chicken Fry

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • salt as per taste
  • 1 egg
  • Pinch of red food colour (Optional)
  • 3 tsp kashmiri red chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala powder
  • 2 lemons
  • Oil to fry the chicken
  • 1/2 tsp vinegar
  • 3 tbsp cornflour

How to make Chicken Fry

  1. Wash and drain the chicken on a kitchen towel.
  2. In a bowl beat one egg, add salt and mix.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste, lemon, red chilly powder, red food colour and mix. Add garam masala, chaat masala, vinegar and mix well.
  4. Add chicken pieces and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes to 1 hour depending upon how much time you have. The longer you marinate the better.
  5. When you are about to fry the chicken, add cornflour and mix, it should coat the chicken well. You can add more if required.
  6. Heat oil and fry on a high flame, do not overcrowd the chicken in the oil. After 5 minutes you can flip the chicken and reduce the flame to medium.
  7. When the chicken turns to a beautiful dark red, remove from oil and serve hot.

My Tip:

Oil should be hot when frying.
