ABOUT Shakshuka RECIPE

Shakshuka is a North Africa dish that is now made throughout the middle east, it is especially popular in Israel,where it is often eaten for breakfast. In Israel the word shakshuka is synonymous with breakfast.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup onion chopped
  2. 5 cloves garlic crushed
  3. 2 tbsp olive oil
  4. 1/2 cup red bell pepper chopped
  5. 2 tbsp red chilly pd
  6. 1 tsp paprika pd
  7. 1 tsp sugar
  8. 1 1/2 cup crushed tomatoes or tomato paste
  9. 4 eggs
  10. 1 tsp pepper pd
  11. 1/2 tsp oregano
  12. 1 tsp cumin pd
  13. 1 tbsp cilantro (dhaniya patta) or parsely for garnishing
  14. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a non stick pan
  2. To this add chopped onion fry till translucent, next add crushed garlic and bell pepper mix them well
  3. Next add crushed tomatoes fry till oil seprates to this add chilly pd, cumin pd, salt and sugar,allow it to cook fr 10 mins
  4. Now make four section in tomato gravy and add egg in each section,garnish it with cilantro, oregano, pepper pd. Cover the lid and cook on medium flame for 10 mins or till eggs are cooked
  5. Once it is cooked switch off the flame
  6. Shakshuka is ready to serve
  7. Remove on serving plate and Serve hot
