ABOUT Dhokla RECIPE

Dhokla is a Gujrati dish prepared with besan, baking soda and curry leaves.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Gram flour(besan) - 1 cup
  2. Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Tsp
  3. Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  4. Salt - 1/2 tsp
  5. Curd - 1 Tbsp
  6. Eno - 1 sachet
  7. Chopped ginger - 1 tsp
  8. Greean Chilli paste - 1 tsp
  9. Oil - 2 tsp
  10. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  11. Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
  12. Curry leaves - 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. In a big bowl make a lump free thick batter from besan and water.
  2. Add salt, sugar, turmeric, curd, green chilli paste and ginger.
  3. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
  4. In a deep pan pour 2 glasses of water.
  5. Keep a plate on it.
  6. Put oil in plate and allow it to heat.
  7. Add Eno in batter and pour this batter in plate.
  8. Cover it and steam for 15 minutes.
  9. After 15 minutes remove from flame and let it cool.
  10. In a pan heat oil. Splatter mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  11. Add coriander and curry leaves.
  12. Pour this with oil on dhokla.
  13. Cut in square pieces and enjoy with green chutney.
