Moong Dal pinni is a small ball of healthy ingredients that gives you energy with the taste in the chilling winters. It's a boosting recipe for kids as well.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Green Moong Dal 1 big bowl
  2. Flax seeds 3/4 of the same bowl
  3. Sugar/jaggery half of the same bowl
  4. Ghee 3/4 cup
  5. Dry fruit as per your choice

Instructions

  1. 1. Take a wok and keep it on medium flame. Now add the moong dal and dry roast it until it turns golden brown and a nice aroma starts coming. Now keep it aside to cool.
  2. 2. Next in the same wok, add the flax seeds and dry roast them also until they start splutter. Take them out in another plate to cool down.
  3. 3. Grind both the ingredients separately to a fine powder and keep aside. Although I grinded flax seeds to coarse powder but fine will taste better.
  4. 4. Grind almonds, cashew nuts, green cardamom and poppy seeds to a fine powder.
  5. 5. Now heat the wok again and add ghee. Add all the above powders and mix them gently. Switch off the flame when it's luke warm and mix grated jaggery/sugar as per the taste.
  6. 6. Finally, at the same time take some mixture in hand and start making pinni out of it to a lemon size ball.
