Ingredients to make Sardines Ambot tik

  • Around 25 sardines cleaned
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 8 to 10 red chillies
  • A small ball of tamarind
  • 4 to 5 kokum petals
  • 5 to 6 triphala
  • 5 tbsp grated coconut
  • salt to taste

How to make Sardines Ambot tik

  1. Marinate sardines with salt and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Grind all the above ingredients except kokum and triphala. When the masala is ground add triphala and just grind for one more minute.
  3. In a vessel put sardines and the masala, add a little water as required. It should be thick, add kokum and salt. Cook till done.
