ABOUT Apple Barfi RECIPE

The idea of making apple barfi comes from Carrot barfi which I learnt from my mother. The difference is only that she used khoya and I used milk powder. So you can use khoya also in place of milk powder.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Apple 1 cup grated ( 4-5 Apples)
  2. Milk powder 1 cup
  3. Sugar 1 cup
  4. Ghee 1 tbsp
  5. Lemon juice 1 tsp
  6. 6-8 Pistachio chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Peel and grate apples.
  2. Add lemon juice to grated apples so that they will not turn black.
  3. In a pan add ghee and grated apples.
  4. Saute them a few times so they will become soft.
  5. Add milk powder and mix it properly.
  6. Add sugar and stir it for some time.
  7. Once you see mixture becomes thick transfer it to a greased plate and sprinkle some chopped pistachios over it.
  8. Once it cools , keep in refrigerator for some time to get smooth pieces.
  9. Cut in desired shape.
