ABOUT Morekali with Red Rice Flour | Savory Riceflour and Buttermilk dish RECIPE

A traditional South Indian dish that is made with Rice flour and slightly sour curd.I have used red rice flour here.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Red rice flour- 1/4 cup
  2. Sour curd- 1/2 cup
  3. Water- 1 cup
  4. Mustard- 1 teaspoon
  5. Urad dal 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Curry leaves a few
  7. salt to taste
  8. Fried sun dried chilies / more milagai 2
  9. oil- 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. In a bowl take the curd and add water,salt and whisk well. Add the rice flour and whisk well so that there are no lumps. Keep aside.
  2.  Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard, urad dal, sun dried chilies, curry leaves. When the dal tunrs brown, add the buttermilk mixture and mix well. Bring to a boil and keep stirring.
  3. After 4-5 minutes, the mixture will thicken .Dip your fingers in water and touch the mixture. If it sticks, cook for a few more minutes, else stir on low it it comes off the sides.
  4. Serve morekali warm with crushed sun dried chili /more milagai on top....
