Iddiyappam a health rice based breakfast recipe of kerala. Which is basically cooked with help of steaming.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 cup rice flour/chawal ka aata
  2. 1 1/2 cup water
  3. Salt to taste
  4. 1 tsp oil


  1. Firstly in a wok take 1 1/2 cup water also add salt and oil
  2. Stir well and get water to a boil
  3. Further simmer the flame and add rice flour
  4. Mix continously till dough is formed
  5. Nw turn off the flame and cover dough for 5mins
  6. Now wet ur hands knead and combine dough together,be careful as the dough is going to be very hot
  7. Now take a noodle mould & mix to the chakli maker, grease the chakli maker with some oil, to prevent dough from sticking the mould
  8. Now make a cylindrical shape out of dough and place the dough inside chakli maker
  9. Thighten the lid and start preparing idiyappam on the greased idli plate press in circular motion
  10. Further steam it for 10 mins
  11. Switch off the flame
  12. Let Iddiyappam cool for 10mins
  13. Serve it with vegetable stew or sweet coconut milk
