.Dashmi Roti is a flatbread from the Maharashtrian cuisine.Easy to prepare and it is very delicious and filling braekfast.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Whole wheat flour - 1 cup
  2. Besan -1/4 cup
  3. Coriander-cumin powder-1/2 teaspoon
  4. Red chili powder- 1.2 teaspoon
  5. Asafoetida powder- 1/8 teaspoon
  6. Oil-1 teaspoon
  7. Turmeric powder- 1/4 teaspoon
  8. Coriander leaves- 2 teaspoon, finely chopped [optional]
  9. Salt to taste


  1. Take all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well
  2. Add water little by little and knead to a semi stiff dough.
  3. Divide the dough into equal sized balls.
  4. Roll out each ball into a circle and cook on a heat griddle / tawa till brown spots appear on both sides.
  5. Remove from griddle and serve hot with yogurt / raita and pickle / chutney.
