Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Ingredients for sambar ..........
  2. 1 cup toor dal
  3. 1/2 cup chopped pumpkin
  4. 1 to 2 ladies finger or okara ( cut into pieces )
  5. 2 tsp chopped onion
  6. Few curry leaves
  7. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  8. 1/2 tsp salt
  9. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  10. 1 tsp tamarind paste
  11. 3 tsp sambar powder
  12. 1/2 tsp oil for tempering
  13. Ingredients for vada .........
  14. 2 cup Urad dal
  15. 1 large size chopped onion
  16. 1/2 tsp salt
  17. 1/2 tsp chopped green chillies
  18. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preparation of Vada .........
  2. Sock urad dal for 3 to 4 hours and wash well and make paste
  3. Now take a mixing bowl pour batter and add chopped onion , chopped curry leaves , cumin seeds , salt , chopped ginger , chopped green chillies , 2 tsp hot oil and mix well
  4. Now heat a deep pan add enough oil and make small ball and flatten them and make a hole in middle portion and deep fry both the sides till golden brown in slow medium flame
  5. Repeat similar process and make all the vadas and keep aside
  6. Now preparation of sambar..........
  7. Wash toor dal well in water and boil with adding salt and turmeric powder till it half cook
  8. When dal becomes half cook add drumsticks and pumpkin and boil for 5 minutes
  9. Now add ladies finger and boil till cook
  10. Now heat a pan add oil , add mustard seeds , curry leaves and saute until spouted
  11. Now add chopped onion and saute until golden brown
  12. Now pour prepared curry and mix well and add tamarind paste , samber powder and mix well and cover a lid for 5 minutes
  13. Now dip prepared vadas in sambar for 10 to 15 minutes
  14. Now serve hot and enjoy
