ABOUT Mixveggie Upma (made in 1 tablespoon) RECIPE

Very interesting and healthy South Indian breakfast recipe .i have used only 1 tablespoon of oil in 500 gram of Bansi Rawa(thick semolina of wheat with outer skin).veggies itself has lots of oil that's why there is no need to use more oil while cooking Veggies. Excellent breakfast for diabetic people it increases water absorption in our body, improves metabolism rate and improves digestion ,contains lot of dietary fibres that's why good in Constipation

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bansi Rawa(Thick Semolina) 500 gram
  2. Small mustard 1/2teaspoon
  3. Cumin seeds/jeera 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Oil 1 table spoon
  5. Onion 1 chopped
  6. Carrots 100 gram
  7. Beans 100 gram
  8. 3 to 4 sprigs of coriander leaves
  9. Green chillies 2 numbers
  10. Tomato 2 medium size
  11. Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
  12. Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon
  13. Ginger garlic paste 1/2 teaspoon
  14. Salt as per taste
  15. Lemon juice 1teaspoon or as pertaste

Instructions

  1. Rins all the veggies with water
  2. Peel out skin of onion, rins and Finely chop
  3. Cut carrot,green chillies ,Coriander leaves and beans into big size, chop them finely in a hand chopper
  4. Cut tomatoes into 4 parts Finely Chop tomatoes with the help of mini hand chopper
  5. Dry roast Bansi Rawa in a pan on a medium flame without oil until nice aroma start coming
  6. Take a pan heat 1 tablespoon of oil add in cumin and small mustard you can add few curry leaves also if you have.
  7. When seasoning start spluttering add in chopped onions.. Saute until turns pinkish in colour.
  8. Add in ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder and saute for a minute
  9. Now add in chopped veggies saute for 3 to 4 minutes
  10. Add in chopped tomatoes ,some salt and chilli powder and stir fry for 2 minutes on high to low flame
  11. Now add in water as per requirement cover and allow it to boil
  12. Now add in dry roast Bansi Rawa and mix with a spatula.
  13. Add in Salt as per taste
  14. Cover the lid and cook on medium flame until it's fully done.
  15. Open the lid inbetween and stir , add in 1/2lemon juice and mix ,cook for 2 more minutes
  16. Serve hot with tea, if a person is not diabetic can have this Upma with Coconut chutney.
