About Dal parantha Recipe

Whole moong dal paranthas,one of my favorite recipes from childhood again. Healthy and nutritious for a filling breakfast.

Dal parantha

Ingredients to make Dal parantha

  • 1 cup whole moong dal
  • water,as required
  • 1 onion
  • 1-2 green chillies
  • 1-2 tbsp chopped coriander
  • salt,to taste
  • ghee/ oil,as required
  • For the dough
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • water,as required

How to make Dal parantha

  1. Wash and soak the whole moong dal for 2 hours at least.
  2. For the dough take wheat flour and salt in a bowl and make a dough with water.
  3. Pressure cook the dal for 3-4 whistles with little water till soft and separate.
  4. Let it cool ,then add chopped onion,green chilli, coriander leaves and salt and mix well.
  5. Take a small ball of dough and fill it with dal filling.
  6. Roll into parantha.
  7. Heat a tawa and shallow fry the paranthas with ghee or oil.
  8. Serve hot with curd or papad.
