Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 3/4 cup wheat flour
  2. 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  3. 1/2 cup sooji
  4. Salt,to taste
  5. 1 tsp carrom seeds
  6. 1 tbsp ghee
  7. 1/4 cup spinach puree
  8. 1/4 cuo beetroot puree
  9. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  10. Water,as required
  11. Oil, for frying
  12. For dal


  1. Mix wheat flour,all purpose flour and sooji in a bowl.
  2. Add salt ,carrom seeds and ghee and mix well.
  3. Divide it into 3 parts.
  4. Add spinach puree to one part and beetroot puree to second part and make spearate doughs.
  5. To the third part add turmeric powder and make a dough.
  6. Cover the 3 doughs for 15-20 mins.
  7. Make cylinders of the 3 doughs.
  8. Make a braid with the 3 cylinders and then cut into small equal pieces.
  9. Make balls if these pieces and roll them out into pakwan.
  10. Make markings with knife so that they do not puff up like pooris.
  11. Deep fry the pakwan on medium flame till done.
