Ingredients to make Chongay

  • Whole wheat/ maida 1 cup
  • Powdered rice 1/2 cup
  • oil for kneading
  • egg 1
  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar 1/2 tablespoon
  • Dry coconut grated
  • khus khus 1 tblsp
  • cardamom fennel powder
  • Dry fruit sliced
  • oil for frying
  • Desi ghee to pour on top of chongay

How to make Chongay

  1. Knead the flours using 1 beaten egg, oil and a little water.
  2. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix together dry grated coconut, cardamom, fennel powder and khus Khus.
  4. Make small balls of dough roll and then deep fry them in hot oil.
  5. Sprinkle powder sugar and grated coconut mixture.
  6. Pour a bit of ghee on top and enjoy soft mouth watering chongay.

My Tip:

Can be stored in air tight container for a week.
