Jam filled Crostata is an Italian Breakfast.It is an easy and fast recipe to make. This flaky crust is filled with strawberry jam .

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. All Purpose Flour 1 3/4 cup
  2. Sugar Powder 1/2 cup
  3. Baking powder 1 teaspoon
  4. Egg 1
  5. egg yolk 1
  6. Butter 1/2 cup
  7. strawberry jam 3/4 cup


  1. In a large pores gently with together all purpose flour sugar and baking powder
  2. create a well in the middle and add slightly beaten egg and 80 and softened butter
  3. mix gently on a flat surface and make into a soft dough .Do not knead.
  4. write down in a cling film and refrigerate in the fridge for 30 minutes
  5. after 30 minutes remove from fridge and knead the dough a couple of times to soften it up again on a lightly floured surface
  6. roll out to 1 /8 inches thickness. Transferred to a greased Tart plate .Trim the edges of any extra dough.
  7. Fill the pastry shell with strawberry jam .With extra dough make strips to create lattice finish.
  8. Give an egg wash on the lattice strips
  9. Bake in preheated oven at 180 degree centigrade for 35 minutes
  10. Remove Crostata from oven and let it cool on a cool rack
  11. De mould from Tart tin and serve.
  12. Delicious Italian Crostata is ready for breakfast with hot cuppa of coffee.
