Baked Custard with Cream Cheese Topping

ABOUT Baked Custard with Cream Cheese Topping RECIPE

This delight is my own version of baked custard. Its easy to make, melts in mouth and is best for dinner parties or tea time snacking.

Ingredients Serving: 15

  1. 4 cups full cream milk
  2. 4 tablespoon vanilla custard powder
  3. 2 cups sugar ( 2 tablespoon for cream cheese topping and rest for custard)
  4. 1 cup Cream cheese
  5. 3 inch cinnamon stick
  6. Nuts, cherries and chocolate syrup for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Boil and simmer the milk for 15-20 minutes with cinnamon stick. Add the custard powder or make as per to custard powder's box instructions.
  2. Keep stirring until thick and creamy. Turn off the heat and add sugar. Let it cool down to room temperature. Meanwhile preheat the oven on 180 degrees for 10 minutes.
  3. Pour custard into a round baking tin and bake on 150 degrees for 50 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
  4. Meanwhile mix cream cheese and sugar until sugar dissolves completely. Set aside on room temperature.
  5. Once custard is done take it out of the oven and let it come down to room temperature. Then spread cream cheese topping over it. Sprinkle with desired garnishing and let it set in fridge for another 2 hours.
  6. Serve chilled
