Ukadpendi is a traditional savoury wheat dish from maharashtra.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 250g wheat flour
  2. 4 tbsp refined oil
  3. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  4. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  5. 4 to 6 curry leaves
  6. 2 dry chilly
  7. 2 finely chopped green chillies
  8. 2 to 3 finely chopped garlic
  9. 1/2 tsp asafoetida
  10. 2 finely chopped onion
  11. 1 vaati butter milk/3 tbsp dahi
  12. 300 to 350 ml of water approximately
  13. 1tsp turmeric
  14. 1 tbsp Chilly powder
  15. Salt according to the taste
  16. 1 tsp sugar
  17. Corainder for garnishing


  1. Take a pan .Heat oil in it. Add mustard seeds and let them be sputter. Add cumin seeds .
  2. Add asafoetida. Saute it well. Now add onion and saute it till they soften and turn translucent Add turmeric. Add red chilly powder .
  3. Add curry leaves. Add garlic Add green chillies. Add red dry chilly .
  4. Approx it will take 8 to 10 minutes. Checkout that the wheat flour should not stick in the mouth....or else's roast it for 1 to 2 minute more. Then add water to it
  5. Add buttermilk Mix it well Stir it continuosly till the water and buttermilk is mix well and wheat is properly mix with it .It should become like porridge
  6. Finally add some corainder leaves and chopped onion and enjoy this super delicious,mouthwatering authentic dish with ur friends and family.
