ABOUT KALA CHANA SOUP / HEALTHY SOUP RECIPE

Kala Chana soup is a rich source of iron. Iron is very important for formation of hemoglobin and soup can help in maintaining your hemoglobin level. I made the Kala Chana Soup from the leftover water after I boiled the chana  for Kanjak , or for salad or sprout. I didn't feel like throwing the water as we use the dry chana.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 4 cup of chana water (with little bit chana)
  2. 2 green onion (chopped)
  3. 1 tsp of ginger paste
  4. 1 tsp of garlic paste
  5. 2 tomato puree
  6. 1 tsp of Garam Masala
  7. 1/2 tsp of black pepper 
  8. 1/2 tsp of coriander powder
  9. salt as per your taste 
  10. Green Coriander 
  11. 1 tsp ghee or olive oil 
  12. 1/2 tsp asafoetida

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan , add asafoetida , add garlic paste, add ginger paste and saute for 2-3 min. 
  2. Add Green onion and saute for 2-3 min. 
  3. Add Black pepper, salt , garam masla, coriander powder and cook for another  2 min. 
  4. Add tomato puree , mix very well and cook for 3-4 mins.
  5. Add Chana water and cook for 5-8 min until boil the curry very well.
  6. After that check the consistency as per your taste. 
  7. Garnish with green coriander and serve hot.
