Beetroot Chapati

Ingredients to make Beetroot Chapati

  • wheat flour
  • Cooking oil
  • water
  • For stuffing:
  • Grated Beetroot 3 cups
  • sugar 2-3 cups or adjust the quantity according to taste
  • cardamom powder : 1 small table spoon
  • Ghee/ butter/ cooking oil 3-4 table spoon

How to make Beetroot Chapati

  1. Knead the dough and allow it to rest for 10-15 minutes
  2. Prepare the stuffing by cooking the grated beetroot in a thick bottom kadaai, preferably non stick
  3. First add 3-4 table spoon of ghee/ butter/ cooking oil
  4. Then add grated beetroot . Allow it to cook for 2-3minutes in low flame
  5. Now add sugar 2-3cups or according to taste and mix it well
  6. Keep stiring the mixture and cook it until all the water content evaporates
  7. Allow the stuffing to cool down. Now add cardamom powder 1 small table spoon
  8. Now take small ball of dough and roll it into small circle( puri size) using chapaati rolling pin or roller
  9. Add the stuffing into it and spread it evenly. Close the edges and seal it, make it flat and roll it gently ( add extra flour while rolling)
  10. Now roast both sides of stuffed chapaati on hot tava smear little oil or ghee while roasting.
  11. Ready to serve with any sweet and sour jam.

My Tip:

Make sure the stuffing has no moisture in it . Serve it hot,with some butter toppings.
