It's all time favourite breakfast of aged ppl as easy to digest due to its soft texture

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Semolina 2 cup
  2. Peas:1 tsp
  3. Carrot finely chopped 1 tsp
  4. Onion finely chopped 1 tbsp
  5. Sweetcorn 1 tsp (optional)
  6. Oil: 3 tbsp
  7. Mustard seeds: 1 and half tsp
  8. Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
  9. Curry leaves: 5 to 7
  10. Asafoetida: 1/2 tsp
  11. Green chilly: chopped 1 tsp
  12. Urad daal (white lentil ) 1 tsp
  13. Chana daal ( bengal gram) :1 tsp
  14. Butter milk:1 glass
  15. Water: 1 glass
  16. Salt:As per taste
  17. Sugar: 1and half tsp(optional)
  18. Grated fresh coconut:1 tsp (optional)
  19. 0 size sev : 1 tsp (optional)
  20. Corainder: for garnishing
  21. Pomegranate:1 tsp (optional)
  22. Roasted cashewnuts in desi ghee (4 to 6)

Instructions

  1. Heat the pan. Add ghee to it.After ghee is heated add semolina in it. Roast it untill it becomes golden brown in colour and fragrance of roasting comes out of it .Now off the gas.Take a pan
  2. Put oil in it. Now add mustard seeds and let it cracker for few seconds .Then add chana daal and urad daal to it. Roast it till it becomes light brown in colour.Then add cumin seeds,curry leaves and asafoetida to it .
  3. Then after add green chilly and onion to it.Saute it till it becomes translucent .Add carrot and peas, sweet corn and saute it for 2 minutes on medium flame . Then add buttermilk and water to it.Boil it properly on medium flame. Add salt and sugar to
  4. As soon as water start boiling start adding roasted semolina to it slowly and slowly.Simultaneously keep on stir it. Check out that no lumps of semolina should be form in it. After some time semolina will absorb all the water
  5. Now keep it on low flame for 2 minutes by covering lid on it. Finally take upma in a dish and decorate it with grated fresh coconut/Sev /pomegranate seeds (optional),roasted cashewnuts (optional) and sprinkle some corainder leaves on it
