  • Rui macher
  • onion paste
  • ginger garlic paste
  • turmeric and coriander powder
  • yougurt
  • garam masala powder
  • kaju paste
  • mustard oil
  • coriander leaves

How to make Bengali Style Rohu Fish Curry

  1. TAKE 500 GMS ROHU FISH, ADD 1/2 TSP EACH OF SALT & TURMERIC POWDER, RUB WELL
  2. HEAT 2 TBSP MUSTARD OIL, SHALLOW FRY THE FISH PIECES
  3. FRY UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN ON BOTH SIDES, SET ASIDE
  4. IN THE SAME OIL, ADD 1 BAY LEAF, 2-3 EACH OF CLOVES, CINNAMON STICKS & GREEN CARDAMOMS
  5. ADD THE PASTE OF 1 ONION, SAUTE
  6. ADD 1 TSP EACH OF TURMERIC, KASHMIRI MIRCH & CORIANDER POWDERS
  7. ADD 1 TSP GINGER-GARLIC PASTE, SALT TO TASTE
  8. ADD 2 TBSP WATER, SAUTE TILL THE MASALA LEAVES OIL
  9. ADD 2 TBSP TOMATO PUREE, SAUTE
  10. ADD 1 TBSP CURD, 1/2 TSP SUGAR, MIX & COOK FOR 2 MINS
  11. ADD 1 TBSP CASHEW PASTE, COOK FOR 2 MINS
  12. ADD 1 CUP OF WATER
  13. ADD THE FRIED FISH, COVER & COOK ON LOW HEAT FOR 10 MINS
  14. ADD 1 TSP GARAM MASALA, 2 GREEN CHILLIES
  15. ADD 2 TBSP CHOPPED CORIANDER LEAVES, TAKE OFF HEAT
  16. SERVE HOT WITH RICE
