Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup chopped cabbage
  2. 3 to 4 garlic cloves
  3. 2 tbsp urad dal
  4. 1 inch ginger chopped
  5. Pinch of hing
  6. 2 tsp oil
  7. 2 dried red chilli
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Small ball sized tamarind
  10. 1/4 cup water
  11. For tempering
  12. 2 tsp oil
  13. 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  14. Few Curry leaves


  1. Firstly take all chopped and dry ingredients in plate .
  2. In a pan heat the oil, add Ginger , garlic, dried red chilli, saute well and put the urad daal become golden brown colour, do not burn it.
  3. Next add chopped cabbage fry till half cooked only, when cabbage turns shrink off the flame and cool them completely.
  4. Add cooled ingredients to grinder or mixer then add turmeric powder, salt, tamarind.
  5. Grind smooth paste adding required water.
  6. Let the chutney pour in bowl or cup
  7. Tempering to add mustard seeds and oil, when mustard splitter. Off the flame and Pour on the chutney.
  8. Finally cabbage chutney is ready to serve
