TAMARIND PICKLE

Ingredients to make TAMARIND PICKLE

  • deseeded tamarind 1 cup(soaked in half cup of water)
  • cinnamon powder 1 teaspoon
  • red chilli powder half teaspoon
  • salt one teaspoon
  • dried ginger powder 1 and half teaspoon
  • sugar 3 cups
  • Roasted cumin powder 1 teaspoon
  • Panch phoron( Bengali five spices) 1 teaspoon
  • mustard oil 1 teaspoon

How to make TAMARIND PICKLE

  1. heat the wok and add panchforon to it
  2. now add the tamarind along with the water
  3. add salt
  4. add red chilli powder, cinnamon powder, and ginger powder and mix well
  5. when it starts boiling add sugar
  6. keeping the flame low stir continuously
  7. when the water evaporate,add cumin powder and mix well
  8. Serve

My Tip:

It can be stored in glass jar for more than a year
