Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Peanuts 1 cup
  2. Urad dal / black gram 2 tblspn
  3. Tamarind little made into tiny pieces
  4. Red chillies 3
  5. Asafoetida powder a pinch
  6. Salt for taste
  7. Oil 2 tspn
  8. Mustard seeds ¼ tspn
  9. Curry leaves few

Instructions

  1. Heat ½ tspn oil in a pan and add peanuts and urad dal. Roast for few minutes.
  2. When the dal starts changing colour, add tamarind and red chillies.
  3. Roast till golden brown, add asafoetida powder, mix well and switch off.
  4. When cooled, grind into chutney consistency with required salt.
  5. Heat remaining oil, crackle mustard seeds, fry curry leaves and add to chutney.
