Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Fresh gooseberries 12
  2. turmeric powder 2 pinches
  3. salt 1½ tspn
  4. Red chill powder 2 tspn
  5. asafoetida powder ½ tspn
  6. Sesame / gingelly oil 2 tblspn
  7. Mustard seeds 1 tspn
  8. Roasted & ground fenugreek powder ½ tspn


  1. Pressure cook gooseberries in a cup of water with ½ tspn salt and turmeric powder for 1 whistle
  2. When cooled, remove the seeds.
  3. Add 1 tspn salt, 2 tspn chilli powder, asafoetida powder, mix well and keep.
  4. Crackle 1 tspn mustard seeds in gingelly oil and add gooseberry pieces. Saute till raw smell goes off.
  5. Add the fenugreek powder, mix well and saute for 2 minutes. Pickle is ready
