ABOUT Flaky Butter Flatbread RECIPE

The term laccha means rings. The dough is formed into rings and is layered with butter. This flatbread is crispy, flaky and perfect companion to any curry.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Wholewheat dough - prepared a night before
  2. 8 tablespoon butter
  3. 1 teaspoon ajwain/carom seeds
  4. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Make a medium tomato sized ball with the dough.
  2. Roll into 1/2 inch thickness. Spread two tablespoon butter and a pinch of ajwain on rolled roti. Spread evenly.
  3. Now form little strips one on top of another without cutting the dough. Just like a paper fan is made.
  4. You should end up with one big strip and other strips layering underneath it. Roll over to make a roundel, it should look like a dough pinwheel.
  5. Roll into 2 inch thickness and pan fry on low heat until golden and crispy on both sides. Serve hot.
